As a Senior (2012-13)
O'Connor did not run cross country during her senior season, but she was a part of the Big Red's fifth-place 4x880 relay team at the Indoor Heps. She also competed on the Big Red's 4x800 relay team at the Indoor Heps. Combined, she helped to score four points throughout the season for Cornell.

As a Junior (2011-12)
O'Connor competed in three cross country races as a junior, taking 41st place at the Colgate Invitational, finishing 75th at the open race of the Paul Short Invitational and earning 38th place at the Yellowjacket Invitational.

On the track, O’Connor took second place in the mile at the Indoor Heptagonal Championships and was also part of the second-place 4x800 relay team at that meet, running the second leg. She also broke the indoor school record in the 1000, coming in at 2:45.61. O'Connor was on the 4x800 relay team that broke the indoor school record with a run of 8:45.20. Her fastest indoor mile time of 4:47.37 is now the fourth-best time in school history.

As a Sophomore (2010-11)
O’Connor had a tremendous sophomore year, setting personal bests in every distance, qualifying for the NCAA First Round in the 1500 and earning a bronze medal at the indoor Eastern Championships in the 1000 meter run.  O’Connor also earned All-East honors by scoring at the ECACs in the 1500, ran a key leg on the school record-setting indoor 4x800 relay and the 4x800 that ran the second best time in school and Ivy League history outdoors at the Penn Relays.

Before Cornell
O'Connor won six state individual state titles in high school, claiming crowns in the 1500m (2006 and 2008), the 800m (2008 and 2009) and the 4x400m relay (2008 and 2009). She also led her team to a state title in cross country in 2008. O'Connor served as team captain for both the track and cross country teams, while earning the cross country team's most valuable runner award three times. She also received the track team's Guts Award three times and was named the Best Teammate as a senior. O'Connor was the first varsity athlete in swimming, nordic skiing, cross country and track and field at Summit HS and was a finalist for Oregon's Johnny Carpenter Prep Athlete of the Year.

Personal
Alyssa Colleen O'Connor is the daughter of David and Dawn O'Connor and has an older brother and an older sister. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
