As a Junior (2011-12)
McCuiston ran the second leg of Cornell's 4x800 at the Indoor Heps, helping the Big Red take second place and score eight points for the team.

As a Sophomore (2010-11)
Entering his sophomore year, McCuiston’s goal was to solidify his position on the team. Unfortunately, he suffered from IT band and hamstring injuries adversely affecting his sophomore season. Being less prepared than he would have liked due to injuries, he came back to the level he was at freshman year by running a 1:52.84 in the 800m at the Cornell Spring Invitational. He competed at the Penn Relays running the 800m leg of the DMR team that ran 9:55.84.

As a Freshman (2009-10)
As an incoming freshman, McCuiston was determined to show he was a threat on the middle distance squad. He posted times of 1:54.67 in the 800m at Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup and 2:30.33 in the 1000m at the Armory. He showed great strength and determination in the early spring of his freshman year by racing over spring break, posting an early season breakout time of 1:52.52 at the Charlotte 49er Classic. He later posted times of 4:00.75 in the 1500m at the Cornell Big Red Open and 1:52.22 at the Cornell Outdoor Invitation to earn him a spot at Penn Relays and the Outdoor Heptagonal. McCuiston was part of the all-freshman 4x800 team that ran a freshman record time at Penn Relays. He made his first Heps appearance in the 4x800 helping the squad place fifth.

Before Cornell
McCuiston won three state titles as a senior, including the 800m, to help his team finish first at the state championship. He was also a part of the state meet record-setting 4x800m relay and the 4x400m relay, while he also ran on the 1600m medley relay that took third at the Nike Nationals. He took 22nd at the state cross country meet as a senior, helping his team finish third, and garnered second-place honors in the 800m as a junior.
