At wideout, he was First Team All-State and helped his team win two division titles and two section titles. He also spent four years on the basketball court as a center and forward where his team won one regional championship. On the baseball diamond, he played for four years as a pitcher, catcher and infielder, specializing at shortstop. He was an All-Conference shortstop and pitcher, and his teams claimed one section title.
