Biography

Senior Season — 2015-16
The second-year co-captain ranked second on the team with 11 victories against just five losses in team matches. Dietz, who primarily anchored a spot in the final rotation at the No. 7 position, was named the team's Most Valuable Player at the postseason banquet. He ended the season on a six-match winning streak in February when the Big Red went on a run down the stretch and eventually finished second in the Hoehn Cup. Dietz then competed at the CSA National Individual Championships for a second straight year, where he won one of his three matches in the Molloy (C) Division. Dietz finished the season ranked 64th in the country by the College Squash Association, and he wrapped up his collegiate career with a 46-24 record.

Junior Season — 2014-15
Serving as one of the team's tri-captains, Dietz racked up a 13-4 record in team matches while competing anywhere from No. 4 to No. 9 in the Big Red's lineup. He appeared most frequently at the No. 6 position, where he was 7-1, and his 13 overall victories ranked second on the team behind just All-American Aditya Jagtap '15. He was one of just three members of the Big Red to win all three of his matches at the Hoehn Cup, and he finished the season with a 4-3 record in Ivy League matches. Dietz went on to qualify for his first career trip to the CSA National Individual Championships, where his performance led him to jump 14 places in the national rankings to a year-ending spot at No. 46. He advanced to the Round of 16 in the Molloy Division, including an upset of Rochester's Michelangelo Bertocchi. Dietz was named the team's Most Sportsmanlike Player at the postseason banquet.

Sophomore Season — 2013-14
Dietz appeared in 16 of the Big Red's 17 matches from the Nos. 7 and 8 spots in the order, posting a 10-6 record. He was a sterling 6-1 in Ivy League matches, including a pivotal five-game win against Columbia's Andrew Tan to clinch the Big Red's 5-4 victory over the Lions in the teams' league opener. It was part of Dietz's five-match winning streak to start the season, and the first of five five-game matches on the season -- all of which Dietz emerged as the victor.

Freshman Season — 2012-13
Dietz jumped right into the mix, competing in 20 of the Big Red's 21 matches — the most of any freshman on the squad. He finished with a 12-9 record overall, including a 9-1 mark when appearing in the Nos. 5, 6, and 7 positions in the lineup. Dietz got off to hot start, winning 10 of his first 11 collegiate matches. The first two were five-game rallies against Western Ontario's Andrew Silvestri and Williams' Ryan Eagan. Dietz primarily competed at No. 8, with a pair of five-game victories over opponents from Franklin & Marshall and Penn in the final weekend of the regular season.

Prior to Cornell
Dietz competed for four seasons at Saint Ann's School, earning the team's Scholar Athlete award. He was ranked 25th by U.S. Squash as of late June, and has international experience at Can-Am events. Dietz also played three years as an outfielder in baseball, also serving as a striker for the soccer team over the course of four seasons at Saint Ann's School.

Personal
Graham Stephen Dietz is the son of Stephen Dietz and Martha Bakos Dietz, and he has two older brothers. He is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
