Brian Eimstad's up-to-date results

As a Senior (2015-16)

A leader on and off the course, Eimstad capped his Big Red career with an impressive senior campaign. He opened the cross country season with a strong third-place finish at the competitive Brother Jasper Invitational. He placed eighth at Ivy League Cross Country Heptagonals, earning Second-Team All-Ivy honors and advancing to the NCAA Division I Northeast Regional Championships. There, he finished 14th to move on to the national championship race, where he closed his cross country career with a respectable 75th place finish.

On the track, he snagged a third-place finish in the 5K at Indoor Ivy League Heptagonals, helping the Big Red to a runner-up team finish.

As a Junior (2014-15)
At Ivy League Cross Country Heptagonals, he earned Second-Team All-Ivy honors with his impressive move from 32nd at the three-mile mark to finish ninth, and helped Cornell to a second-place team finish. At the season-opening dual meet at Army, he finished fourth overall with an 8K time of 24:50.06. He led the Big Red at Pre-Nationals, taking 37th in 24:54.4. His 10K time of 30:58.57 at NCAA Northeast Regionals was good for 22nd place.

On the track, he snagged a first-place finish with 5K time of 14:28.58 at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge. At the Upstate Challenge, he finished fourth in the 3000 with a time of 8:27.60. He helped the Big Red to team second at Indoor Heps, coming in eighth in the 5000 at 14:29.20. He finished seventh at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival with a 10,000 time of 30:16.45.

As a Sophomore (2013-14)
Eimstad was one of the Big Red's top cross country runners this year and finished either first or second for Cornell in all four of his races. He placed 3rd at the season-opener agaisnt Army (2nd for the Big Red) with a time of 25:23.7. He was the 2nd Cornell runner to cross the finish line at the Boston College Invitational, and was 32nd overall, with a time of 25:10.0. At both the Pre-National Meet in Indiana and at the Ivy League/Heptagonal Championships, Eimstad was the first Big Red runner to finish and placed 122nd and 23rd overall, respectively.

Eimstad also had a busy season on the track. He posted a career best 8:26.14 time to finish 15th in the 3000 at the SPIRE NCAA Indoor Invitational. His best showing came at the Indoor IC4A’s where he took home 4th place in the 5000 with a career best 14:13.64. Outdoors, he posted a career best 3:56.22 for a 10th place finish in the 1500 at the UCR Spring Break Invitational. He marked a career best 29:59.53 in the 10,000 at the Stanford Invitational. At the Outdoor Heps, he took home 8th place in both the 5000 and the 10,000.

As a Freshman (2012-13)
Eimstad had a strong freshman campaign that saw him place 75th at the Heptagonal Championships in his first ever appearance at the meet. Earlier in the year, Eimstad was 15th at the Army-Binghamton tri-meet, 28th at the Yellowjacket Invitational, 30th at the Paul Short Run's open race and 60th at the Princeton Invitation, where he scored for the Big Red as its fifth runner. His last race before Heps was the John Reif Memorial Run where he placed ninth in the five-mile event.

On the track, Eimstad took part in multiple distance events throughout the season. He competed in the 10K at the IC4A Outdoors, placing 11th. His personal best in the 10K came a month earlier at the Bison Outdoor Classic when he finished in 30:50.35. He also had good showings in the mile (4:24.11) and 5K (15:07.01) throughout the year.

Before Cornell
Eimstad ran cross country and track at South Eugene, winning a team cross country state title in 2011 and finishing as the state runner up as an individual. He was a captain for cross country and track, and he was a finalist for the Nike-Steve Prefontaine Prep Distance Runner of the Year Award.

Brian Williamson Datri Eimstad is the son of Bill Eimstad and Betsy Datri. He has an older sister, Amber, and an older brother, Arlen.
