Wong's up-to-date resultsAs a Junior (2014-15)Wong competed in two meets for the Big Red her junior year, finishing ninth in the 100 hurdles at the Big Red Invitational (15.44) and 11
th at Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonals (14.95).Â
As a Sophomore (2013-14)Wong continued to be a major contributor in the sprints during her second season. She posted a new career best in the 100 hurdles. She posted a season best 60 hurdle time of 9.29 to finish 6
th at the Deneault Memorial. Her season really picked up outdoors. She took 2
nd place in the 100 hurdles at the Cortland Classic Invitational. Wong concluded the year at the Cornell Outdoor Invitational, posting a career best 100 hurdle time of 14.90 to finish 4
th.
As a Freshman (2012-13)Wong competed in multiple events for the Big Red during her first season. She competed in the 60 hurdles at the Indoor Heps, taking seventh and just missing scoring a point for the Big Red. Wong also ran the 4x100 Shuttle Hurdle Championship race at Penn Relays, helping the BIg Red to a first-place finish in its heat.
Before CornellAmong her state’s best in the hurdles and long jump with outstanding sprint skills, Wong recorded the fourth-best time in Massachusetts at 55-meter hurdles running 8.13 for third at her indoor championships. In the 100 hurdles, she was second in her state meet running a personal-best 14.49. She graduated from high school holding school records in both events, and her teams won indoor state championships in 2010, 2011 and 2012 while claiming outdoor state titles in 2011 and 2012.
PersonalKayla Justine Wong is the daughter of Kenny and Suzanne Wong. She has an older brother named Kyle.
