His 200 backstroke became the first event that Cesaro has scored in at the Ivy League Championship meet, which is a big step in the right direction. Cesaro made strong improvements in his freshman season with career-best times in the 100 and 200 back and the 100 free.

Prior to Cornell
Cesaro was a four-time all-conference pick in swimming and diving and set six school records at Avon HS. He was a three-time team most valuable performer and set Avon records in the 50, 100 and 200 free, the 100 back and as part of both the 200 medley and 400 free relays. Cesaro performed for the Wheeler Regional YMCA Tigersharks club and was a multiple year competitor at the New England YMCA meet.  A 2011 and 2012 YMCA Short Course participant, he was team captain as a senior. Cesaro also played four seasons of soccer.
