Hynes' up-to-date resultsAs a Junior (2014-15)Hynes excelled in the sprints and the long jump as a junior. In the indoor season, he won the 60m dash in 6.96 seconds at the Kane Invitational and placed second in the long jump (23’ 8”) at the Deneault Memorial. He also picked up a personal-best 60 dash time of 6.91 to finish fourth at Ivy League Indoor Heptagonals. Outdoors, he finished second in the 100 (10.74) and the long jump (24’ 3.75”) at the Cornell Invitational and was a member of the Ivy League-champion 4x100 team, which finished in 40.60.
As a Sophomore (2013-14)Hynes primarily competed in the sprints in his second season. His best showing in the indoor season came at the 2014 Robert J. Kane Invitational. He helped the 4x4 relay team take 3
rd place at the event, while he added an individual 2
nd place finish in the 60 and 6
th place finish in the long jump. The sophomore notched season bests in both the 60 (6.97) and long jump (22’ 7.25”) at the Deneault Memorial. He competed in just the 60 at the Indoor Heps, placing 7
th with a time of 7.01. Hynes almost exclusively participated in the 100 once the outdoor season started. He posted his best performance at the Cornell Outdoor Invitational, running a season best 11.04 to take home 5
th place at the event.
As a Freshman (2012-13)Hynes was an immediate contributor to the Big Red roster in the sprints during his first year with the team, running in the NCAA East Regional in the 4x100 relay and helping Cornell go under 40 seconds to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championship. He started his year in the multi events, competing at the Indoor Heps in the heptathlon where he placed ninth with 4,771 points. After that, he ran the 60-meter dash at the Indoor IC4As and took 24th place. Outdoors he found a home on the Big Red's relay teams, running with Cornell to first place in their heat at the 4x100 relay at the Penn Relays. He also helped Cornell win the 4x100 at the Outdoor Heps, and he placed 10th as an individual in the 100 at that meet. Before the NCAA East Regional, Hynes also ran the 100 at the Outdoor IC4As, placing 30th.
Before CornellHynes came into his own during his senior year by racing to a state championship in the 100m with a best time of 10.65. Also a very good IH prospect, he ran 37.22 and has long jumped just under 23 feet.
PersonalRyan Casey Hynes is the son of Art and Kim Hynes. He has two older brothers, Duane and Derek, who both attended Princeton.
