Prior to Cornell
2013-14: Arujau did not compete.

2012-13: Arujau went 8-4 with three falls and four total bonus wins. He opened the season with a fourth-place effort at the Binghamton Open and also placed fourth at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Tournament at Millersville. He wrestled in three dual meets, including earning a pin in 34 seconds against No. 13 Cody Brewer of Oklahoma in a win at the Journeymen Northeast Duals.

2011-12: After transferring from American University, Arujau earned a spot in Cornell’s starting lineup at 133 pounds during the spring semester. As a sophomore he opened with two wins over opponents from Iowa State and Columbia. At the EIWA tournament, Arujau went 3-2 to place fifth and automatically qualify for the NCAA tournament. In his second bout at the EIWAs, he defeated Shawn Armato of Bucknell by a 14-0 major decision to pick up his first bonus win in a Cornell singlet. Arujau went 1-2 at the NCAA tournament, where he defeated Arizona State’s Shane McGough by an 11-2 major decision.

2010-11: At American University, Arujau posted a 24-10 overall record at 125 pounds and was ranked as high at No. 15 in the country. In his freshman campaign, he placed eighth at the EIWA championships and first at the East Stroudsburg Open and Messiah Open. Arujau also took third at the Wilkes Barre Open and fifth at the Brute-Binghamton Open. He was ranked second on his team in technical falls with five, and was fourth on the team with six falls.

Prior to Cornell
A four-time state finalist, Arujau earned three-straight New York State championships and graduated with a career record of 187-7 at Syosset HS. He was the No. 2 recruit in the state and set the Nassau County record with 123 consecutive wins. Arujau was named a Fargo All-American after placing seventh in both 2008 and 2009. He also took third place at the Super 32.

Personal
Naryman (Nick) Arujau is the son of Zhanna Arujava and Vougar Oroudjov. His father, Vougar, was the bronze medalist in freestyle wrestling for the former Soviet Union at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Vougar was also a two-time gold medalist at the World Championships and took fourth at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia at 48 kg. Arujau has two younger brothers. Majoring in international agriculture and rural development, he is a student in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
