Biography

At Cornell
2012-13: Dunphy had a strong 19-9 season as a junior, posting six bonus wins and earning a pair of dual meet victories. He finished seventh at the Penn State Open and won matches by major decision, technical fall and fall during the New York State Intercollegiate Championships.

2011-12: Dunphy totaled eight wins in his second season with the Big Red. He opened the season at 141 pounds and moved up to 149 to place third at the Mat Town Open and fifth at the New York State Intercollegiate Tournament. Dunphy also wrestled at the Binghamton Open, Body Bar Invitational and Edinboro Open. 

2010-11: Dunphy began his collegiate career with a first period fall in his opening match at the Binghamton Open.  He took third place at the Mat Town Open.  Dunphy went 6-7 overall at 149 pounds, with three bonus point victories (two falls) while also wrestling at the Body Bar and the Southern Scuffle.

Prior to Cornell 
Dunphy was the NHSCA Junior Nationals runner up in 2009 and a third-place medalist at the New Jersey state championships at 140 pounds. He won four district titles and two regional championships, while his 156 victories are the most ever for a Passaic County wrestler. Dunphy also played four seasons of varsity soccer, serving as team captain as a senior.

Personal
Ryan James Dunphy is the son of Jim and Leah Dunphy abd has a younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences while studying biology.
