Biography

At Cornell
2012-13: Shanaman earned honorable mention All-Ivy accolades as a junior after posting a 12-10 overall record. Included were big dual meet wins over Missouri, Brown, Harvard, Penn, Bucknell and Hofstra. He closed out the season with a sixth place finish at the EIWA championships. Shanaman finished sixth at the Binghamton Open to open the season.

2011-12:Shanaman did not compete for the Big Red.

2010-11: Shanaman went 21-10 as a freshman with five bonus wins. He wrestled in one dual and saw action in a number of tournaments, including picking up four victories at the Binghamton Open and  four more at the Lock Haven Tournament.

Prior to Cornell
Shanaman, a three-time National Preps medalist, was one of Intermat’s top 100 recruits. He was a finalist at several top events his senior year, winning the Beast of East title while taking runner up at Ironman and NHSCA Senior Nationals at 152 pounds. Shanaman also won the Bethlehem Holiday Classic. 

Personal
Jesse Nathaniel Shanaman is the son of Mike and Karen Shanaman and has two older brothers. His brother, Zack, wrestled at Penn. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
