As a Senior (2016)
Black appeared in three games during his final season for the Big Red and made one start against New Hampshire on Sept. 18, logging a season-high 34 minutes and attempting one shot in the 2-0 loss.

As a Junior (2015)
As a captain on a relatively young squad, Black’s experience, poise and leadership were evident in his play on the field. He appeared in 13 games for the Big Red, starting eight and logging 797 minutes on the season. He posted nine shots, including a season-high three as Cornell outshot then-No. 12 Oregon State on Sept. 13.

As a Sophomore (2014)
Black was a major contributor in the midfield for the Big Red in his second season. He appeared in 16 fixtures – including 12 starts – in 2014. He collected the game-winning goal in Cornell’s 1-0 victory at Colgate. He finished the year with 810 minutes played.

As a Freshman (2013)
Black played in 12 games for the Big Red during his first season, earning a start at Yale on Oct. 19. He recorded two shots on goal, both in the team's game at Penn on Oct. 5. 

Before Cornell
Black comes to Ithaca from Cambridge, England, where he was named to the All-Europe team for three consecutive years from 2010-2012. He played four years of high school soccer for Alconbury, leading his team in scoring both his junior and senior year. Black played his club soccer for St. Ives FC, playing with both the U-18 and Reserve team, and serving as captain for both his high school and club teams. For his performances at the high school level, he was named to the All-Region and All-Tournament team from 2010-2012 and was also named team MVP for all three years. In April 2012, he was selected as Europe Athlete of the Week and was selected to play for the U-18 ODP Europe Stateside Select team.

Personal
Jeffrey Edward Black is the son of Jeffrey and Sheri Black. His father played football at Northern Arizona from 1989-91. He also has a younger sister, Isabel.
