As a Senior

Herrera was named to the All-CSFL second team as a senior after rushing for 262 yards and posting 122 receiving yards, both good for third on the team. He also returned seven kicks for 146 yards. He posted a season-high 87 receiving yards against Penn and matched it with a season-high 87 rushing yards in the season finale at Post. Appearing in all seven games, he averaged 37.43 rushing yards per game and 17.43 receiving yards per game.

As a Junior (2014)
Herrera was named Offensive First-Team All-CSFL after rushing for 479 net yards on the season and averaging 68.4 rushing yards per game, the best rushing average on the Big Red. He rushed for a season-high 133 yards and a touchdown in Cornell’s 36-19 loss to Penn. He also added 145 receiving yards on 21 catches in his seven games.  

As a Sophomore (2013)
Herrera again led the team in rushing and was second in receiving during his sophomore campaign, helping him earn Second Team All-CSFL honors. He picked up 322 net yards on 61 carries aided by a career-high 162-yard, two touchdown performance on the ground against Princeton. Herrera has 18 receptions for 201 yards and one touchdown. He finished second on the team in all-purpose yardage with 523 yards of offense on the season, an average of 74.7 yards per game. 

As a Freshman (2012)
Herrera was a strong player during his first season with the Big Red, playing in four contests and leading the team in rushing. Herrera netted 190 yards on the ground, averaging 5.9 yards per carry. He also had one rushing touchdown, four catches for 22 yards and averaged 26.1 yards on eight kick returns. He had the third-most all-purpose yards on the team and averaged 105.2 yards per game, the highest on the team.
   
Before Cornell
Herrera played football in high school for four years as a running back, fullback and cornerback. He was named to the All-Conference academic team and won his school's Marc Fagot Courage Award. He also played one year of baseball and was a pole vaulter for one season as well.

Personal
Benjamin Matthew Herrera is the son of Joe and Jill Herrera. He has an older brother, Nick, and a younger sister, Jessica.
