As a Senior (2013-14)
Sorna had a phenominal senior season, finishing 14th out of 253 runners at the NCAA Championships with a 6K time of 20:26.5. Her best 6K time came at the Wisconsin Invitational, where she finished with a time of 20:20.0. Sorna's other 6K finishes came at the Ivy League/Heptagonal Championships, where she placed 3rd, and at the Pual Short Gold run, where she placed 5th. She was the first runner to finish at the meet against Army, where she ran a 17:20.4 5K and she placed 5th at the Boston College Invitational (17:17.0).

Sorna followed a fantastic final cross country season with another fabulous conclusion on the track. Serving as Cornell’s premiere distance runner, she competed primarily in the 3000, 5000, and 3000 steeplechase. She showed steady improvement as the season progressed. At the Indoor Heps, she posted a 6th place finish in the 3000 and a 7th place finish in the 5000. The following week she knocked seven seconds off her 3000 to take 2nd place at the Indoor ECAC’s. Outdoors, she dominated the 3000 and 3000 steeplechase. Sorna took home 1st place in the steeple at the UCR Spring Break Invitational. She marked a career best 3000 steeple of 9:43.48 in a 3rd place finish at the Larry Ellis Invitational. The following week she posted a career best 3000 of 9:09.45 to finish 2nd at the Penn Relays. At the Outdoor Heps, she competed in the 3000 steeple, 3000, and 10,000 events. She placed 1st in the steeple, while earning 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the 3000 and 10,000. Sorna concluded her career at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships, marking a 4th overall finish in the 3000 steeple.

As a Junior (2012-13)
Sorna was a phenomenal cross country runner for the Big Red during her junior year, placing first in two races among Cornell runners and finishing no worse than third in all the others. Sorna was the Big Red's top finisher at the NCAA Championship, placing 34th and earning All-America status. Earlier in the year she was 11th at the NCAA Northeast Regionals and second on the Big Red roster, and she took third place at the Heptagonal Championships to help the team win its second straight Ivy League title. That finish also earned her First Team All-Ivy honors. Sorna took third at the season-opening Army-Binghamton tri-meet, first overall at the Yellowjacket Invitational, 18th at the Paul Short run and 22nd at the Wisconsin Invitational. After the year, Sorna was named one of two team captains for the 2013 season and earned the team's Most Improved Award.

Sorna's phenomenal breakout season continued on the track where she set personal records in five events and advanced to the NCAA Championship in the 3K steeplechase outdoors and the 5K indoors. The junior began her year by placing second at the Indoor Heps in the 5K and winning the 3K to score 18 points for the Big Red by herself. At the Indoor National Championship, she was 11th in the 5K in 15:59.60 to earn Second Team All-America honors. She ended her indoor season holding the Cornell records for both the 3K and the 5K. Outdoors, Sorna won the 3K Championship section at Penn Relays in 9:20.36 to break the school record in the event. She won the 3K steeplechase at the Outdoor Heps, took second in the 3K at the Outdoor Heps and then placed third in the 10K to score a combined 24 points by herself at Heps for the Big Red. At the NCAA East Regional in Greensboro, N.C., Sorna cruised to a victory in her heat of the 3K steeplechase to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championship. She finished fourth at the NCAA meet to earn first-team All-America honors - her third All-America accolade of the school year. At the team's year-end banquet, Sorna was given the Fleet Morse Award as Cornell's most important athlete and the Dr. George Ladas Award as the team's best distance runner. She was also named a captain for the 2013-14 season.

As a Sophomore (2011-12)
Sorna improved dramatically as her sophomore cross country season progressed. She started the year as the 10th-best Cornell runner in the Army-Binghamton meet, but by the end she was the team's sixth-place finisher at the Heptagonal Championships and at the NCAA Northeast Regionals. In between, she placed 24th overall at the Colgate Invitational, ninth on the team at the Paul Short Invitational and third overall at the Yellowjacket Invitational.

On the track, Sorna was a big part of Cornell's distance races in her sophomore year, starting off with an 11th-place showing in the 3K and a 10th-place finish in the 5K at the Indoor Heptagonal Championships. She switched to the steeplechase outdoors, breaking her personal record by six seconds at the Penn Relays to finish fourth in the women's championship race. Sorna then took second in the steeplechase at Outdoor Heps to break her personal record by another 10 seconds, a time of 10:13.18 that is now third-best ever at Cornell. Sorna then took her talents to the Outdoor ECACs, where she placed second again at the 3K steeplechase behind only teammate Genna Hartung. Sorna's steeplechasing earned her a spot at the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla., where she placed 22nd in a competitive field to end her season.

As a Freshman (2010-11)
Sorna made big contributions as a freshman and saved her best for the end of the season, when she placed third at the Heps in the 3000 steeplechase, while breaking the school freshman record and moving into the all-time top 10 lists in school history.  She followed that up a week later with an All-East, scoring performance at the ECAC Championships.  An outstanding cross country runner, Sorna will look to contribute in all three seasons as a sophomore while continuing to improve in her specialty, the steeplechase.

Before Cornell
Sorna was a high school All-American in the steeplechase and in the 4xMile relay, finishing third in the steeple at the outdoor nationals in 2010 and fifth in the relay in 2009. At the state meet as a senior, she took eighth in the steeplechase and was the sectional champion. She took 12th at the state cross country meet in 2008 and 19th in 2009, leading her team to a sectional championship in both seasons.
