Biography
At Cornell
Kerner earned second-team USAG All-America accolades on vault as a sophomore in 2012 after scoring a career-best 9.725. A two-year starter on vault, she also jumped into the lineup on bars as a sophomore and junior. Due to injuries, Kerner couldn't compete on vault in 2013, but still contributed with a solid season on bars. She scored a career-high at the Southern Connecticut quad meet. She twice scored career highs of 9.650 on bars in 2012, including at the ECAC championships, and scored a career-best 9.450 on floor against Penn and Brockport. Kerner was a starter on vault as a freshman in 2011, posting her highest score in her collegiate debut at the George Washington Invitational with a 9.525.Â
Prior to Cornell
Kerner was a four-year Level 10 state competitor and a three-year Level 10 regional competitor for Aerials Gymnastics. She was team captain in her final two seasons. Kerner attended Vacaville HS.
Personal
Elise Catherine Kerner is the daughter of Greg and Kathy Kerner and has two brothers.
