Biography
At Cornell
As a junior, Piccirilli rowed in the second varsity eight that won the Cornell Trophy for the first time since 2006 at the 2013 EARC Sprints. He rowed as a member of the third varsity eight during his sophomore season, helping the crew to win a gold medal at the 2012 EARC Sprints. During the regular season, the third varsity eight earned victories over Harvard, Penn, Princeton, Yale and Dartmouth.
Prior to Cornell
Piccirilli rowed for three years at Watertown HS. During his time at Watertown, he earned a first place finish at the Northeast Regionals in the men’s lightweight eight+, a second place finish at the Club Nationals in the junior A eight+, and a sixth place finish at the Head of the Charles in the junior eight+.
Personal
Joseph William Piccirilli is the son of Vincent Piccirilli and Anita Meiklejohn, both of whom attended Cornell, and he has one younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
