Sherwood's up-to-date resultsAs a Sophomore (2014-15)Sherwood competed primarily in the hurdle events in his sophomore season. His highest placing at an indoor event was his third-place finish in the 60m hurdles (8.51) at the Kane Invitational, where he also finished fourth in the 400 (1:07.57). Outdoors, he won the 400 hurdles at the Big Red Invitational, crossing the line in 53.93. At the same meet, his 4x400 team ran to victory in 3:25.17. He also finished second in the 400 hurdles at the Cornell Outdoor Invitational (54.47) and third at the Upstate Challenge (55.83).
As a Freshman (2013-14)Sherwood put together a solid opening campaign for the Big Red. He was a fixture on the indoor 4x4 relay team, while he competed in a variety of sprint and sprint hurdle events. He had an excellent showing at the Bomber Invitational, helping the 4x4 team to a 2
nd place finish, while adding 4
th place finish in the 60 hurdles in a season best time of 8.42 and 2
nd place finish in the 400. At the Indoor Heps, he competed in the 60 hurdles and the 400, finishing 11
th and 13
th respectively. Outdoors, Sherwood found his niche in the 400 hurdles. He took home a 29
th place finish at the Stanford Invitational, however, the following week he shaved 3.62 seconds off his time to finish 1
st at the Bison Outdoor Classic. He had a fantastic performance at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational, helping the 4x4 relay team to a 1
st place finish, while scoring another 1
st place finish in the 400 hurdles. He stayed on a role, taking 1
st place in the 400 hurdles the following week at the Cornell Outdoor Invitational. Riding the wave of success, Sherwood took home 3
rd place at the Outdoor Heps with a season best time of 52.22, which was good enough to send him to the NCAA East Prelims. He concluded the season with a 29
th place finish at the prelims, coming up just 0.06 seconds short of his personal best.
Before CornellAn accomplished runner at the high school, national and international levels, Sherwood was a four-year member of the track and field team at Cameron Heights Collegiate Insitutue, serving as captain his senior year. In 2010 he set a provincial record and won the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) championship in the 300-meter hurdles. The following year he was OFSAA champion in the 100-meter hurdle event.Â
Sherwood set a Canadian record in 2010 when he won the U16 National Championship in the 100-meter hurdles. That same year he also captured the 300-meter and 4x100 and sprint medley relay events as member of Team Ontario. In 2013, he ran the third leg of Canada's U20 record-holding 4x400-meter relay team (3:07.6).
PersonalJordan William Sherwood is the son of Bill and Lorraine Sherwood and has two younger sisters, Dana and Sydney. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.Â
