At Cornell
As a sophomore, Milde was a member of the third varsity eight that won the bronze medal at the 2015 ECAC Sprints, before moving into the second varsity eight boat that  took second in the Petite Final race at the 2015 IRA Regatta. In his first season with the Big Red, Milde helped the freshmen eight to win a bronze medal at the 2014 Eastern Sprints. The crew went on to be the Big Red's lone boat to race in the Grand Finals of the 2014 IRA Regatta and placed sixth in the nation.

Prior to Cornell
Milde was a two-sport athlete at Old Rochester Regional high school, lettering three times in track and field and twice in soccer.

Alexander Lyall Milde is the son of Paul and Elizabeth Milde. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
