At Cornell
As a junior, Lycouris stroked the varsity eight boat that took fifth at the 2014 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship. Lycouris spent her sophomore season in the second varsity eight boat, helping the Big Red to a fourth place finish at the 2013 Ivy League Women's Rowing Championship, before winning the C Finals at the 2013 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championship for a 13th place finish overall. A solid contributor during her rookie season, Lycouris rowed in the second varsity eight and helped that boat to victories over Syracuse, Boston University, Rutgers and Dartmouth. The crew also finished sixth overall at the Ivy League championship and placed second in the Third Level Finals at the 2012 NCAA championship, good for 14th in the nation.

Prior to Cornell
Lycouris rowed for the Connecticut Boat Club where she helped the quad to a ninth place finish at the 2011 nationals, while going undefeated in the varsity eight and second varsity eight. She also rowed for Greenwich HS, wining back-to-back state championships in 2008 and 2009. Lycouris was the team’s most valuable rower in 2008 and its most improved rower in 2009.

Personal
Maria Kyveli Lycouris is the daughter of John and Anna Lycouris and she has one older brother and one younger sister. Her cousin Nikos Vezanis attends Cornell. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
