Biography

Why Gillman Chose Cornell: Cornell's excellent academics and outstanding women's rowing team really attracted me to the school, but what truly made the difference was the people I met on my official visit. The overwhelming positivity and quiet contentedness of the Cornellians I met made me want to be one myself. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to learn and row at such an amazing place!

At Cornell
As a freshman, Gillman rowed in the third varsity eight that placed fifth at the 2015 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship. She also rowed in the third varsity eight that defeated Dartmouth during the regular season.

Prior to Cornell
Gillman was a member of the Long Island Rowing Club for five years. She took second in the women’s 2x at the 2014 NYS Championships, after winning the gold at the same regatta the season prior. In 2013, she placed 12th overall at the USRowing Youth National Championship in the women’s 2x. Gillman also earned a fifth place finish in the under-16 women’s 2x at the 2012 Royal Canadian Henley.
