Biography

At Cornell
Hooker was a three-year letter winner for the Big Red and was a member of back-to-back undefeated national championship varsity eight crews over his final two seasons. He was named first-team All-Ivy twice during his career as the varsity eight won back-to-back Jope Cups and consecutive Ivy League Championships for the first time in over 50 years. The Big Red varsity eight was also named both the EARC and IRA Lightweight Crew of the Year both seasons and he helped Cornell to consecutive semifinal finishes in the Temple Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta. As a sophomore, Hooker stroked the varsity eight that finished sixth overall at the 2013 EARC Sprints, before rowing in the varsity four crew that earned the bronze medal at the 2013 IRA Regatta. He rowed as a member of the freshmen eight during his rookie season. Hooker helped the crew to a fourth place finish at the 2012 EARC Sprints.

Prior to Cornell
Hooker was a three-time letter winner at the Jesuit College Preparatory School, receiving 20 gold medals and 10 silver medals at various regattas, including the Heart of Texas, Book of the Oklahoma, Head of the Hooch, Stotesbury, Head of the Charles, and the San Diego Crew Classic. He also was champion of the Southwestern Ergometer Amateur Tournament.

Personal
Andrew Ramsey Hooker is the son of Troy Hooker and Rima Hakim and has one older brother. He is enrolled in the School of Hotel Administration.
