Biography

At Cornell
Junior (2015-16): LaViolette rowed in the third varsity eight that took the silver medal at the 2016 Eastern Sprints. During the season, he helped the crew earn the Leonard Cup with a win over Penn and Harvard, as well as posting victories over Yale, Columbia, MIT, and Dartmouth

Sophomore (2014-15): During his sophomore season, LaViolette won a gold medal with the fourth varsity eight at the 2015 EARC Sprints. 

Freshman (2013-14): In his first season with the Big Red, LaViolette rowed in the freshmen eight boat that took the bronze medal at the 2014 Eastern Sprints and helped the Big Red to earn its first Jope Cup since 2008.  

Prior to Cornell
LaViolette earned four varsity letters in rowing at Winchester high school was also a member of the Community Rowing Inc. His lightweight eight crew won the 2012 USRowing Northeast Regional Championships and went on to compete at the 2012 USRowing Youth National Championships. He also participated in the 2012 Head of the Charles Regatta and saw his crew take third place at 2012 Royal Canadian Henley.

Personal
Alexander Tucker LaViolette is the son of Susan LaViolette. His cousin, Lindsey Ludwig attends Cornell. He is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
