Biography
• IRA All-Academic Team (2015)
At Cornell
As a junior, Sigal won a silver medal rowing from the bow seat in the lightweight four without coxswain at the 2015 IRA Regatta. He also helped the Big Red earn its second consecutive Jope Cup by rowing in the second varsity eight that won a silver medal at the 2015 EARC Sprints. As a sophomore, Sigal rowed in the third varsity eight boat that took the bronze medal at the 2014 Eastern Sprints.
As a rookie, Sigal rowed in the freshman four that won the gold medal at the 2013 EARC Sprints.
Prior to Cornell
Sigal lettered three times between Andover high school and Phillips Academy, winning gold in the second varsity eight race at the 2010 NEIRA. He also earned the bronze in the second varsity eight race to go along with the team title at the 2011 NEIRA. At the 2012 NEIRA, Sigal won gold in the second varsity eight and won the team title. He also played two years of ice hockey.
Personal
Ian Randall Sigal has one younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
