At CornellJunior (2014-15): Sera had an outstanding junior season, leading the foil squad in wins with a record of 50-16 and ranking second on the squad by winning 76 percent of her bouts. She was a perfect 3-0 vs. Haverford, Sacred Heart, Vassar, Tufts, MIT, St. John’s, Air Force, Boston College, Brandeis, UNC and Duke, while going a perfect 2-0 CCNY, and 1-0 vs. NJIT. Sera went on to be the foil squad’s top finisher at the NCAA Northeast Regional, taking 10th overall to qualify for her first ever NCAA Championship. She earned five wins over the two-day competition to place 22nd overall and help the Big Red to a 17th place team finish. Following the season, she was selected to represent Albania at the U23 European Fencing Championship, held in Vicenza, Italy.Â
Sophomore (2013-14):Â Sera went 3-3 on the season, picking up victories against Johns Hopkins, Brandeis and Lafayette.Â
Freshman (2012-13):Â Sera had an outstanding rookie season, posting a 25-8 record for the foil squad. She went a perfect 3-0 against Vassar, Wellesley, Sacred Heart, UNC and Drew, and was 2-0 against Haverford and MIT.Â
Prior to CornellSera fenced four years at Herrics high school, serving as team captain and earning first-team all-county honors.
PersonalEdiona Olimpia Sera is the daughter of Edi Sera and Oneda Panajoti and she has one younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
