A four-year starter and two-time captain, Taylor Standiford set the school mark for career assists (40), breaking a school record that had stood for 18 years. An outstanding player at center midfield and the team's stick-stopper for penalty corners, as a senior she broke her own school record for single-season assists with 13. She finished the 2015 campaign ranked third in the conference and seventh in the nation with 0.76 assists per game. Standiford graduates owning three of the top 10 spots for assists in a single season (13 in 2005; 12 in 2014; 9 in 2013).

Off the field Standiford is a leader in every sense of the word. She is a member of the Red Key Honor Society, as well as a member of College Mentors for Kids. She also envisioned and served as the Co-Chairperson for Cornell’s first-ever Leadership in Athletics Conference, held last fall.

Academically, Standiford is one of just five Cornell field hockey players to be named to the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad in each of her four seasons, and was named Academic All-Ivy this past fall.

Junior (2014): Standiford served as team captain during her junior season, leading the team out of the midfield. She set the school record with 12 assists on the season, thanks in large part to her role as the team’s stick-stopper on penalty corners. Standiford finished the year ranked second in the Ivy League and 10th in the nation with 0.75 assists per contest. Following the season, she was named to the 2014 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.

Sophomore (2013): Standiford played nearly every minute of every game during her sophomore season and led the team with nine assists, a mark that also ranked first in the Ivy League. Her nine assists rank fourth all-time in Cornell single-season history. Standiford also added a goal against Columbia to finish with 11 points on the season. Of her 11 points, seven came in Ivy League competition. Following the season, she was named to the 2013 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.

Freshman (2012): Standiford had an outstanding rookie season, seeing action in all 17 games and making 15 starts. She ranked second on the team with six assists and added two goals to finish with 10 points, good for fourth overall on the team. Both of her goals came in a 4-0 victory over Harvard. Standiford also tallied two assists at Colgate, while finishing with a helper against Georgetown, Davidson, Holy Cross and Dartmouth. Following the season, she was named to the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.

At Huron HS
Standiford was a standout two-sport athlete at Huron high school, lettering four times in both field hockey and lacrosse and earning first-team all-state honors in both sports (field hockey – 2010, 2011; lacrosse – 2011). An NFHCA Midwest Regional All-American in 2011, Standiford led her team to back-to-back Division 1 State Championships in 2010 and 2011, as well as a runner-up finish in 2009. She was the team’s second-leading scorer as a sophomore and junior and was the team’s leading scorer as a senior. She was named to the All-Area Dream Team in 2010 and 2011 and was also her school’s Most Valuable Midfielder those same seasons. In addition to being all-state in lacrosse, Standiford was also named the Ann Arbor News Player of the Year in 2010 and was a three time SEC Conference all-area team selection.
