Biography
As a Senior (2016)
Ferguson appeared in all 17 fixtures for the Big Red during his senior season, proving to be a key cog in the team's offensive attack as his four points on two goals was fourth-best on the squad. Ferguson scored his first of the season on Oct. 2 against Penn, heading home a goal in the 87th minute to force overtime. Two games later, he again scored in the 87th minute, this time converting a penalty kick against Colgate to give the Big Red a 3-2, it's first of the season. Ferguson, who started eight games and logged 872 minutes, was third on the team in shot attempts (12) and fourth on the team in shots on goals (6).
As a Junior (2015)
As one of the team’s captain, Ferguson’s leadership became evident on the filed in his junior season. After spending time at several different positions early in his collegiate career, Ferguson became a consistent presence at midfield in 2015, appearing in all 17 games and starting 13 for 1,163 minutes. He scored his first career goal at Princeton on Oct. 31, converting a penalty kick in the 2-1 victory. Ferguson’s season-high four shots on Sept. 13 helped the Big Red outshoot then-No. 12 Oregon State, and he finished the season with 16 shots, including eight on goal, good for tied-for-second on the team.
As a Sophomore (2014)
Ferguson played a major role off the bench for the Big Red in his second season. He appeared in 14 appearances, while he made four starts. He strengthened down the stretch, logging over 50 minutes in six of the last seven contests on the year. He tallied two assists with one each in back-to-back victories at Colgate and home against Yale.
As a Freshman (2013)
Ferguson was a utility player for the Big Red in his first season, seeing action in 13 games at forward, midfield and defense. He earned starts against Hartwick, Buffalo, Niagara and Colgate and recorded three shots throughout the season.Â
Before Cornell
Ferguson was a three-year captain for his club team, Tucson Soccer Academy, and was named to the Arizona Daily Star Division II First Team all four years of his high school career. With his TSA team, he played in the state championship game four of the past seven years and won the state championship in 2010. The team recently finished runner-up in the State Cup to qualify for the Far West Regionals which will be held in Hawaii in June. A four-year starter for perennial power Catalina Foothills, he was named MVP of the team his freshman year and named team captain as well as Offensive Player of the Year in 2012. That same year, Foothills claimed the state championship. In his senior season, he won the Brandon Bean Tournament championship and was named as the Field Player of the Tournament. He was named to the All Division II First Team, the Section II First Team and the Arizona Republic All-Star First Team in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Jack Lawrence Ferguson is the son of Dwight and Nancy Ferguson. He has an older sister, Amanda.
