Biography

As a Sophomore (2016)
Watters started all 14 fixtures in which he appeared for the Big Red in his second year, and earned honorable mention All-Ivy honors for his performance in the midfield. Watters logged 998 minutes - and put in at least 65 minutes on 11 occasions - and notched five points on two goals and one assist and finished third on the team in shots on goal with seven. Watters quickly became one of the team's best threats, scoring his first career goal in the season-opener against Central Connecticut State on Sept. 2 and then grabbing his second in the team's 3-2 win at Colgate on Oct. 11.

As a Freshman (2015)
Watters had an impressive freshman season, stepping right into a major role as an outside midfielder. His speed, ball skills and vision made him one of the team’s top offensive threats, often setting up quality chances for his teammates. He appeared in 16 games and logged 901 minutes, the second most among freshmen on the team.

Before Cornell
Watters was a three-time club captain, twice for Andromeda FC U16 US Soccer Federation Academy and once with the Andromeda U18 squad. He trained with Tottenham’s college elite and received an invite to the U.S. Men's National Team Training Center.

Personal
Ryan Matthew Watters is the son of John and Donna Watters. Ryan’s aunt, Sheila, and uncle, Doug, both graduated from Cornell. He has four older siblings and is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
