Biography
Senior Season — 2015-16
Serving as a co-captain, Wherry was 2-2 in scoring matches. Both of her victories came from the No. 7 position on Nov. 21 against opponents from Middlebury and Williams.
Junior Season — 2014-15
Wherry won two of her three matches on the season, defeating Williams' Celestia Lancaster from the No. 9 spot on Nov. 21 and William Smith's Eric Casey from the No. 8 position on Feb. 8. Both victories came in the minimum three sets.
Sophomore Season — 2013-14
Wherry finished the season ranked 79th in the country by the College Squash Association, tying for a team-high nine victories over 15 appearances. Most of her competition came from the Nos. 6 and 7 positions in the lineup, where she was 3-3 in Ivy League play. Wherry had a four-match winning streak through the middle of the season, including a five-game victory against Harvard's Isabelle Dowling on Feb. 1 and a four-game decision the following day against Dartmouth's Victoria Dewey. Wherry was 3-0 in five-game matches.
Freshman Season — 2012-13
Wherry was 7-3 in her collegiate debut, including an undefated mark in her four matches from the middle of the order. She started the season on a five-match winning streak, which included a four-game victory over Dartmouth's Helena Darling on Feb. 2 in her first Ivy League appearance. Wherry primarily appeared at the No. 9 spot, where she was 3-3. She finished the season ranked 103rd in the country by the CSA.
Prior to Cornell
Wherry served as the captain of the first-year squash program at Saint Ann's School during her senior season, helping the team capture sixth in the high school national championships. Playing her club squash with Heights Casino, she was the 2009 Dana Hall Junior Girls Open Champion, took 15th place at the 2010 Pioneer Junior Open and 10th place at the 2011 Dutch Junior Open. Her highest national ranking was 11th during the 2010-11 season girls' Under-17. She won the All-Casino Award in 2012 for Enthusiasm & Leadership in Squash, and was a three-time Scholar Athlete Award winner.
Personal
Olivia Dora Wherry is the daughter of Robert and Deborah Wherry, and her older brother, Lucas, plays squash at Wesleyan. Her maternal great grandfather, Louis Gaberman, is a graduate of the Cornell Law School. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
