Freshman (2015-16): Wilkinson was the only freshman to contribute to the epee squad during the 2015-16 season, posting a 23-26 record overall (0-7 Ivy). Her best outing came in a 10-3 performance at the Vassar Invitational. She also went 9-6 at the Philly Invitational. Wilkinson opened the season with a 12th place finish in the epee competition at the Temple Open.

Prior to Cornell
Wilkinson fenced for four seasons at Tappan Zee High School, where she was a starter on the epee squad. She also fenced with Nyack Fencing Academy. Wilkinson also played soccer and softball for Tappan Zee High School. She was a two-time captain for the softball team and earned Section I All-League honors as a junior.
 
Personal
Emma Cathryn Wilkinson is the daughter of Thomas and Patricia Wilkinson and she has two younger brothers. She is enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
