Biography
As a Junior (2015-16)
Huss competed as the teams Open Fences rider for the programs first trip to Nationals at Lexington, Kentucky. She placed fifth, helping earn the team an overall seventh place ranking.
As a Sophomore (2014-15)
Huss concluded her sophomore season with a Reserve Championship in the Open Fences at the National Show. She also took reserve high-point in Individual Open Fences at the Zone 2 Championships and a reserve championship in Open Flat at the Regional Show. In the Big Red’s Ivy League team title win, she finished third in the Open Fences.
As a Freshman (2013-14)
Huss was one of four Cornell riders to attend the National Show. She placed seventh in the Open Individual Equitation Over Fences.
Before Cornell
Huss was a four-year member of the varsity equestrian team at Prestonwood Christian Academy. In 2011 she competed in the Kentucky National Horse Show where she finished first in the WIHS hunter phase with a top score of 89. She also finished first in the ASPCA Maclay and USEF Pessoa hunt seat. In 2012 Huss won the Virginia Horse Shows Association Hunt Seat medal and was named Horsemanship Champion.Â
PersonalÂ
Chelsea Marie Huss is the daughter of Michael Huss and Mary Anne Choi. She has a younger brother, Eric. Huss is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
