Biography

Career
• Enters her senior season ranked first in Cornell history for career wins (22), and fourth overall in career shutouts (7).
 
As a junior (2016)
• Started the first 13 games of the season before succumbing to a season-ending injury.
• Ranked third in the Ivy League with a 1.99 goals-against average and was sixth overall with a .676 save percentage
• Posted a career-high 10 saves in a 1-0 loss to No. 19 Stanford.
• Allowed one or fewer goals in 8-of-13 games, and posted five or more saves on six occasions.
 
As a sophomore (2015)
• Struggled with injury throughout her sophomore season, but managed to start 12 games for the Big Red, posting an 8-4 record.
• Registered four shutout victories, good for first in the Ivy League.
• Finished the season ranked 14th in the nation in winning percentage.
• Her eight wins ranked seventh all-time in Cornell history for wins in a single season, while her four shutouts ranked fourth all-time.
• Finished the year with a .597 save percentage and a 2.08 goal-against average.

As a freshman (2014)
• Had a stellar rookie season with the Big Red, making 11 starts and posting an 8-3 record with two shutouts.
• Posted a 1.22 goals-against average, good for sixth in Cornell history in a single season.
• The 1.22 GAA was good for first in the Ivy League and ninth in the nation.
• Finished third in the Ivy League and 29th in the country with a .729 save percentage.
• Was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as well as the ECAC Rookie of the Week on Sept. 23 after posting her first collegiate shutout vs. Penn and then matching a then-career-high with five saves in a 2-1 victory over Holy Cross the next afternoon.
• Was named to the U19 US Junior National Team.  

At Glenelg Country School
• An NFHCA High School National Third-Team All-American selection in 2013, Johnson lettered twice for Glenelg Country School, serving as team captain her senior season.
• As a member of the USA Field Hockey Futures Program, Johnson was selected to the 2013-14 U-19 national team after earning a spot on the 2012-13 U-17 national team.
• As a senior at Glenelg, she made 145 saves, posted an .889 save percentage and allowed just 18 goals en-route to seven shutout victories.
• Prior to her All-American honor, she was named an NFHCA High School Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team selection.
• Johnson was also named an Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland Conference B All-Star and a Baltimore Sun All-County Second Team selection in 2013.
• She was a two-time Washington Post All-Metro Honorable Mention choice and was named a Baltimore Sun Player to Watch prior to her senior season.
• A Futures' Elite selection, Johnson was also chosen to play in the Maryland Coaches Association Senior Game.
• She also lettered once in ice hockey.

Personal
• Kelly Ann Johnson is the daughter of Thomas and Anna Johnson and she has one older brother, Jeffrey, who attended Cornell.
• She is a fourth-generation Cornellian as both great-grandfathers – Walter M. Ralph ’13 and Wright Johnson ’23 – her grandfather John G. Johnson ’52, her grandmother Jean Ralph ’50 and her father Thomas ’76 graduated from East Hill.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
