Biography

As a Sophomore (2017)
Gerlach once again played valuable minutes for the team during his sophomore year campaign, appearing in 15 games and starting in three of them. He played a season-high 82 minutes in the season opener against Incarnate Word en route to a total of 453 minutes on the year. The midfielder recorded six total shots with two coming against Lehigh (9/8).

As a Freshman (2016)
Gerlach contributed to the Big Red immediately as a freshman, playing in every game of the year and starting in 10 of them. The midfielder played at least 33 minutes in each game and started seven of the last 10 fixtures. Gerlach earned his first-career point with an assist in the season-opener against Central Connecticut State and finished the season with four shot attempts and one shot on goal.

Before Cornell
Gerlach spent his sophomore and junior years with DC United Academy, attending the MLS Generation adidas Cup each year, before playing his senior year for Gonzaga High School and Arlington Impact Red. He was named First-Team All-WCAC and First-Team All-State with Gonzaga and helped Arlington Impact Red to a national runner-up finish in 2015. Prior to his time with DC United Academy, Gerlach served as the captain of the Virginia State team and was a starter for the Region 1 Olympic Development Program on the team’s trips to Italy and Croatia. Gerlach was also invited to the National Team training center for his age group.
 
Personal
Christophe Thomas Gerlach is the son of Chris and Monica Gerlach. He has three younger brothers, Nick and twins Alex and Matty. He is enrolled in the SC Johnson College of Business.
