Biography
Why Rudolph-Shabinsky Chose Cornell: I chose Cornell University due to its unique combination of top-tier academics and competitive athletics. I also chose Cornell for the rowing program and its coaches.
At Cornell
As a sophomore (2015-16)
• Moved into the second varsity eight during her sophomore season.
• Helped the Big Red to an open-water victory over Boston University in a race at Brown.
As a freshman (2014-15)
• As a freshman, Rudolph-Shabinsky rowed in the varsity four B that took sixth overall at the 2015 Ivy League Women’s Rowing Championship.
• Following the season, Rudolph-Shabinsky traveled to England with the Big Red to participate in the program's first-ever trip to the Henley Women's Regatta, where she rowed as a member of the second varsity eight in the Senior 8 race.
Prior to Cornell
• Rowed for four years with the River Rowing Association, serving as the varsity captain as a senior.
• Also earned one varsity letter in lacrosse at Nyack high school, helping the team to a League Championship in 2012.
Personal
• Alice Kate Rudolph-Shabinsky is the daughter of Ivan and Kathleen Rudolph-Shabinsky and she has one brother and one sister.
• Her father graduated from Cornell. Her sister, Helen, plays lacrosse at Denver, while her brother, James, plays lacrosse at Stevens Institute of Technology.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
