At Cornell

Dan O’Neill was a very successful member of the men’s lightweight rowing team. He rowed for the varsity eight that capped off undefeated seasons with an IRA National Championship as both a sophomore in 2015 and as a senior in 2017. O’Neill also helped the crew to an Ivy League Championship as a sophomore and as a senior. By virtue of winning the Ivy League, he was named first-team All-Ivy both seasons. He was also a member of the varsity eight that was named both the EARC and IRA Lightweight Crew of the Year in 2015 and 2017. During his rookie campaign, O’Neill rowed with the freshmen eight that took the bronze medal at the 2014 Eastern Sprints and helped the Big Red to earn its first Jope Cup since 2008. He then rowed in the varsity four boat that advanced to the IRA Grand Finals, placing fourth overall. As a junior, O’Neill rowed with the varsity eight that earned the Matthews Cup and Baggley Bowl. He also took fifth with the varsity eight at the IRA National Championships as a junior.

Prior to Cornell
O’Neill rowed as a member of the East End Rowing Institute.  In 2013, he placed second overall at the USRowing Youth National Championships in the men’s youth double, as well as a second place with the junior lightweight men at the 2013 Crash B's Indoor World Rowing Championship. O’Neill also earned a third place finish in the youth double at the 2012 Head of the Charles, a third place finish in the junior A single at the 2012 Club Nationals, and a first place finish in the lightweight double at the 2012 Stotesbury Regatta. 

Personal
Daniel Eugene O’Neill is the son of Edward and Janet and he has an older brother, Eddie, who is a member of the Big Red lightweight crew. He is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
