As a senior (2016-17)
• Earned the team’s Overall Achievement Award at the senior banquet.
• Had the third-fastest time in school history in the 200 back, scoring at the Ivy League Championships in 2:00.75.
• Placed 11th overall in the 100 breast, taking No. 3 all-time at Cornell with a 1:02.71.
• Part of the 400 medley relay that had the third-fastest time in school history (3:44.43).
• Swam a career-best time in the 200 IM, placing 11th overall at the Ivy meet with a 2:02.53, No. 2 all-time at Cornell.
• Won the 100 breast race against Columbia and the 100 butterfly against St. Bonaventure among 10 top three individual finishes during the year.
• Was third in the 100 breast and fourth in both the 200 and 400 IM at the Akron Zippy Invitational.
As a junior (2015-16)
• Lowered her own school record in the 200 IM with a 2:02.72 at the 2016 Ivy League Championships, allowing her to place 14th overall.
• Her time of 2:01.17 in the 200 back was good for No. 2 all-time at Cornell and 14th at the Ivy meet.
• Had a season-best time of 4:20.00 in the 400 IM to place 11th overall.
• Swam the third leg of the 800 free relay team that posted the second-fastest time in school history (7:30.90).
• Won the 100 back and 200 breast events in a dual meet victory over Colgate.
• Was the runner-up in the 400 IM against Columbia.
• Posted the team’s best times in the 200 IM and 200 back and was second to her sister Currie in the 400 IM, as well as second in the 200 breast.
As a sophomore (2014-15)
• Was a member of the Ivy League Championship team, scoring in the 200 and 400 IM and 200 back races.
• Finished 10
th at the championships in the 400 IM with a 4:19.95, good for second in the B level final.
• Was also 15
th in the 200 back and 18
th in the 200 IM.
• Won three dual meet races during the season, including the 200 back against Ivy foe Brown.
• Murch Elliot placed second in the 200 and 400 IM and the 500 free at the Bomber Invitational.
• Was second in the 200 IM and 200 back in tri-meets against both Penn and Princeton and Dartmouth and Harvard.
• Had the team’s fastest time of the season in both the 200 and 400 IM and the 200 back.
As a freshman (2013-14)
• Murch Elliot had a very strong freshman season for the Big Red, competing primarily in the IM and backstroke events.
• She set a Cornell school record in the 200 IM and swam a leg of the 800 freestyle relay that also set a Cornell record.
• She qualified for the Big Red’s Ivy League Championship team.
• On Cornell’s all-time top 10 list, Murch Elliot is ranked in four individual events: first in the 200 IM, second in the 400 IM, fourth in the 200 backstroke and 10th in the 500 freestyle.
Prior to Cornell
• Murch Elliot was a Speedo summer junior national qualifier and finished third at the South Eastern Zone sectionals in the 400 IM.
• A three-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, she qualified for the winter national qualifier in the 400 IM.
• Murch Elliot placed 33rd in the 5K at Open Water nationals in 2011 and was part of the North Carolina all-star team in 2012.
• She finished 25th at the Speedo junior nationals in 2012 and earned an IMX top 20 national ranking.
Personal
• Billy Ross Murch Elliot is the daughter of David and Lori Murch Elliot and has a twin sister and a younger sister.
• Her twin sister Currie is a teammate on the Big Red swimming and diving team, and her father ran cross country at the University of Vermont.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
