Biography
As a senior (2017-18)
• Ranked second on team and eighth in Ivy League with scoring average of 3.1-over par (73.85).
• Competed in all of team's 20 tournament rounds, with all but one counting toward team score.
• Three finishes in top 10, including tie for third at Cornell Invitational in September.
• Shot 3-under-par 68 in second round at home event for season's best round.
• Average individual finish of 16th ranked second on squad.
As a junior (2016-17)
• Turned in another solid season, ranking third on team in scoring average (74.67; plus-3.1) and average individual finish (21st).
• Played final two rounds of Cornell Invitational to 1-over par to help Cornell capture team title
• Followed that up by tying for seventh individually at Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge.
• Two top-10 finishes, with second coming in spring debut. Consecutive rounds under par, ended up fifth at Princeton Invitational.
• Closed Ivy League Championship with pair of 75s to finish 23rd individually and help Cornell tie a program best with a second-place team finish.
As a sophomore (2015-16)
• Tied for third on team with 17 competitive rounds, improving scoring from previous season to average of 79.06.
• Best rounds were 73s in first and final rounds of the Cornell Invitational, where he finished 28th individually helped Cornell to a third-place team finish.
• Best individual finish was tie for 16th at Cornell Spring South Florida Invitational.
• Had first two rounds at Ivy League Championships count toward team score and eventually helped Cornell finish fourth.
As a freshman (2014-15)
• One of just three Big Red golfers to compete in all 19 tournament rounds with scoring average of 79.74.
• Particularly strong in fall tournaments, shooting 1-under-par 70 in first collegiate round at the Navy Fall Classic.
• Would go on to finish 21st at the tournament, which was best individual finish outside of limited-field RTJ Individual Shootout.
• Took 25th at Quechee Club Invitational and 29th at Cornell Invitational, where he had squad's best final round with a 1-over-par 72.
Prior to Cornell
• Arrived on East Hill on heels of 18th-place finish at 2014 New York State Men's Amateur Championship.
• As captain for Brunswick School in 2014, was Fairchester Athletic League individual champion and earned third all-league selection.
• Runner-up at New York State Junior Amateur Championship in 2013.
• Seven-time junior club champion — once at Winged Foot Golf Club (2013) and six times at Stanwich Club (2008-13).
• Also two-time letterwinner in both football and basketball at Brunswick School.
• AP Scholar with distinction.
Personal
• Christopher Troy is the son of Michael and Alison Troy, and he has an older brother.
• Father (Class of 1981) and brother are also Cornell graduates.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
