Biography
As a senior (2019-20)
• Competed at all nine meets for the Big Red during senior campaign, including the Ivy League Championships.
• Raced in the 50-freestyle, 100-freestyle, and 200-freestyle at the conference meet, notching a season-best in the 50-freestyle (24.16).
• Helped Cornell’s 400-yard freestyle relay post the 10th-fastest mark in Big Red history (3:25.83) against Columbia.
• Secured a pair of season-bests in the 100-freestyle (52.02) and 200-freestyle (1:53.08) against the Lions, finishing as the runner-up in the 100-freestyle.
• Won the 100-freestyle against Binghamton, helping Cornell to the team victory.
• Finished third in the 100-freestyle against Brown, as the Big Red went on to defeat the Bears.
• Recorded a personal-best in the 100-backstroke (58.62) at Akron’s Zippy Invitational.
As a junior (2018-19)
• Competed at the Ivy League Championships, swimming the 50, 100 and 200 free.
• Finished fifth in the 100 back and sixth in the 50 free vs. Bryant.
• Swam in five events at the Bomber/Ithaca Winter Invitational, placing third in the 200 free.
As a sophomore (2017-18)
• Swam three events in the Big Red lineup at the Ivy League Championship, competing in the 50, 100 and 200 free.
• She posted a lifetime best in the 200 back.
• Competed in every Ivy League meet with fourth-place efforts in the 200 back against Brown and the 100 free vs. Columbia.
• Finished third in the 200 free against MIT.
• Earned the first Joseph J. Lucia Team Spirit Award given to the Big Red swimmer or diver who demonstrates passion and commitment to their teammates.
As a freshman (2016-17)
• Competed in three events at the Ivy League Championships (50, 100 and 200 free).
• Took third in the 200 free in the dual meet against Columbia.
• Swam in five dual meets during the season, competing primarily in the sprint freestyle races.
Prior to Cornell
• Mikles was a 16-time state champion at Ravenscroft School, primarily competing in the sprint freestyle races.
• Was undefeated in high school en route to earning USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honors.
• Earned News & Observer Scholar Athlete of the Year honors in 2015.
• Named captain of the swimming team as a senior.
Personal
• Chloe Sofia Mikles is the daughter of Mark and Heather Mikles and has a younger sister.
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
