Sprint Football
As a Senior (2016)
Northrop appeared in five games in his first season of sprint football. He registered 19 tackles, including 14 unassisted.
Track and Field
As a Sophomore (2014-15)
Northrop continued to compete exclusively in the jumps his sophomore year, picking up a second-place finish at the Cornell Sunday Invitational indoor event with a long jump of 22’ 8”. His jump of 22’ 9.25” was good for third at the indoor Kane Invitational and his 22’ 6.25” jump at the Upstate Challenge landed him in fifth place. In the high jump, he placed fifth at the Sunday Invitational with a jump of 45’ 1.5”).
As a Freshman (2013-14)
Northrop contributed in the indoor season for the Big Red in his freshman season. He focused specifically on the long jump and triple jump. His best showing in the long jump came at the Ithaca College Quad Meet where he took the top spot with a jump of 23’ 1.75”. His best triple jump came at the Deneault Memorial, taking 3
rd place with a jump of 46’ 8.75”. He participated in both events at the Indoor Heps, but only posted a legal long jump, which netted him 11
th place.
Before Cornell
Northrop was a four-year member of both the track and field at Big Sky High School. He was the Montana State Class AA triple jump champion in 2012 and the runner up in 2013. He captained the team to the Montana State Class AA Boys Track and Field Championship that same year. He comes to Cornell as the triple jump record-holder at Big Sky. Northrop was also a four-year member of the football team in high school, earning All-Conference and All-State honors at outside linebacker his senior year.
Personal
Weston Alexander Northrop is the son of Randall and WyAnn Northrop and has an older sister, Alyssa. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
