Biography
CSA Scholar Athlete (2018, 2019)
As a senior (2018-19)
• Tied for team lead in victories, posting a 9-7 record from the Nos. 7 and 8 positions.
• Won eight of season's final 10 matches, including all three contests at the Kurtz Cup — which Cornell won.
• Victories against opponents from Columbia, Brown and Penn tied her for team lead in Ivy League wins with three.
• Named College Squash Association Scholar Athlete for second straight year.
• Qualified for CSA Individual National Championships, competing in North bracket of Holleran Cup.
As a junior (2017-18)
• Won three of four appearances on the season, including an Ivy League victory from the No. 9 position over an opponent from Penn on Feb. 9.
• Named College Squash Association Scholar Athlete.
As a sophomore (2016-17)
• Posted one of the team's better winning percentages, going 7-4 while competing from the bottom four positions in the order.
• Won in five games to help the Big Red grab a lead after the first rotation in a big 6-3 victory against Columbia on Jan. 29, which allowed Cornell to move up to a national standing of seventh.
As a freshman 2015-16
• 6-7 from the lower portion of the order, competing from the No. 9 position eight times.
• Won both collegiate debut against an opponent from Williams on Nov. 21 and Ivy League debut against an opponent from Brown on Jan. 10.
• Ended the season with a three-game victory in the seventh-place match of the Howe Cup against Columbia.
Prior to Cornell
• Scherl joins the Big Red has US Squash’s 31st-ranked GU19 player in the country. She finished the 2013-14 ranked 22nd in the same division.
Personal
• Hannah Arin Scherl is the daughter of Saul and Jodi Scherl, and she has a brother and a sister.
• Sister, Adinah, was also a member of the Cornell women's squash team.
• Has five cousins who have also competed in collegiate squash at Yale, Brown and Harvard.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
