Biography
As a fifth-year senior (2021)
• Appeared in all 16 games and started 11 contests in her final season with the Big Red.
• Named team captain for the third year in a row.
• Scored one goal over the season in Cornell’s victory over Canisius on Aug. 27.
• Attempted nine shots and landed five on goal during the season.
As a senior (2020)
• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Named team captain for second straight year.
As a junior (2019)
• Served as one of team's three captains, becoming the first junior to wear an armband since 2013 (Claire McManus '15).
• Ranked fifth in minutes (918) despite missing three games due to injury.
• All 12 appearances were starts as an outside back, where she also produced three points on a goal and an assist moving forward.
• Second career goal served as the game's only strike in a Sept. 2 win against Siena on a looping, sharp-angled shot from 35 yards.
• Named a runner-up for the team's Jessica Gunter Inspirational Player Award, which is given annually to the player that displays the most inspiring performances and presence both on and off the field.
As a sophomore (2018)
• A fixture out wide on the back line, finishing second on the team with 1,351 minutes.
• Appeared in all of team's 15 games, including 14 starts.
• First collegiate goal was also team's first strike of the season, coming in the second half of Aug. 24 overtime victory at St. Bonaventure.
As a freshman (2017)
• Ranked second among team's freshmen with 783 minutes played.
• Appeared in all but two games, making eight starts.
• One of team's top options as defender on right flank, started each of team's final five games.
• Directed three shots toward goal with one on target.
Prior to Cornell
• Helped McLean HS capture 2015 conference championship.
• Earned all-conference second team honors after serving as captain senior year.
• Collected all-conference honorable mention in 2015 and 2016.
• Competing on club level with McLean Youth Soccer, helped team reach ECNL playoffs in 2016.
• Member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society.
Personal
• Naomi Romaine Jaffe is the daughter of Gregory and Margaret Jaffe, and she has an older brother and an older sister.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
