Biography
As a senior (2021)
• Appeared in 13 games and started four contests for the Big Red.
• Scored two goals , including the game-winner against Columbia on Sept. 25.
• Selected to the 2021 Academic All-Ivy League team.
• Her game-winning goal against the Lions earned Cornell its first win in Ivy League competition since Nov. 5, 2016.
• Ranked third on the team for goals (two) and points (four).
• Attempted 15 shots and landed six on goal during the season.
As a junior (2020)
• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a sophomore (2019)
• Led team in scoring with six points on two goals and two assists.
• Runner-up for team's Offensive Player of the Year award.
• Long ball sent Jadyn Matthews away for lone strike in a 1-0 win Sept. 9 at Bucknell.
• Scored in third minute of 1-1 draw with Binghamton on Sept. 18, cleaning up a loose ball in the box after Kennedy Yearby flicked on a throw-in.
• Converted from the spot Oct. 5 at Penn for third collegiate goal and second in Ivy League play.
• Assisted on Liza Mariner's goal in season finale Nov. 9 at Dartmouth.
• Appeared in all 15 of team's games, including nine starts, appearing in the midfield and at forward.
As a freshman (2018)
• Ranked fourth in team scoring with three points on one goal and one assist.
• Scored first collegiate goal and was only newcomer to score in Ivy League play with strike Oct. 21 at Brown off Carolyn Ruoff's corner kick.
• Led freshman class with 14 appearances, including seven starts.
• First collegiate point came on assist of classmate Aidan Julia Reineman's goal Sept. 3 at Siena.
• Led team with 18 shots, and ranked second with seven on target.
• Logged 734 minutes as primarily a forward.
Prior to Cornell
• Competed for seven years with the Pine Crest School, serving as a captain during senior season.
• Twice named to Miami Herald all-county first team.
• A two-time member of Sun Sentinel all-county first team, plus five-time honoree for all-county second team.
• Competed on club level with Sunrise Soccer Club, winning four State Cup titles and reaching the regional finals.
• Participated on Region III Olympic Development Program team from 2012-13 and 2016-17.
• Fixture on Florida Olympic Development Program state team from 2012-17.
• U.S. Soccer training invitee from 2012-15.
• Member of the National Beta Honors Society.
• Round Square International Conference Ambassador.
Personal
• Evanthia Anastasia Spyredes is the daughter of Tom and Angela Spyredes, and she has two sisters.
• Enrolled in the School of Hotel Administration.
