Biography
As a Freshman (2017-18)
• Placed second in the novice team flat at the Zone 2 Championships.
Before Cornell
• Schaefer has been riding for about seven years and currently trains with Jay Sargent and Kristin Chance.
• She competed in National Junior Hunter Finals this past year, was CDHJC Children’s Hunter Champion and placed sixth nationally with her IEA team.
• In addition, Schaefer was a varsity cheerleader in high school.
Personal
• Melissa is the daughter of Dana and Lawrence Schaefer.
• She is currently enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
