Biography
As a Junior (2017-18)
• Claimed the Ivy League reserve title in the open flat.
• Earned the regional championship in intermediate fences and was the reserve champion in the intermediate flat.
As a Sophomore (2016-17)
• Won the Ivy League title in intermediate fences.
As a Freshman (2015-16)
• Earned the Ivy league crown in intermediate flat.
Before Cornell
• Shanley was ranked in the top ten in the Ohio state divisions throughout high school and lettered in equestrian four times at St. Ursula Academy.
• She was also a member of the National Honor Society, president of the school’s Latin club and editor of the school newspaper.
Personal
• Florence Vaughan Shanley is the daughter of Sharon and William Shanley.
• She has an older brother, William, who is a member of the Air Force Academy Class of 2017.
• She is enrolled in the SC Johnson College of Business.
