As a Senior (2019)

• Named a team captain.
• Named first team All-Ivy League.
• Named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Northeast Region second team.
• Appeared in and started all 17 games for the Big Red as a senior.
• Led the team in goals (5) and tied for the team-high in total points (11).
• Found his stride late in the season, scoring all five of his goals in the teams final eight games.
• Signed a professional contract with Union Omaha of USL One.

As a Junior (2018)

• Named a team captain in his first season as a member of the squad.
• Started and Appeared in 14 games on the season.
• Finished the season second on the team in points with 12 on five goals and two assists.
• His goal as a member of the Big Red came against St. Francis Brooklyn on Sept. 2.
• Against Columbia on Nov. 10, he tallied a goal and an assist for a season-high three points.

Prior to Cornell

• Spent last two years at Yavapai College
• Twice named to the All-ACCAC Region Second Team in 2016 and 2017.
• His freshman year, Scearce was tabbed to NSCAA All-West Region First Team after finishing second in the nation with 16 assists.
• Dubbed the Yavapai Student-Athlete of the Year in 2017.
• In two years totaled 10 goals and 31 assists, which ranks second in school history.
• Team captain of Chaparral High School’s soccer squad his senior year.
• Tabbed the team’s most valuable player his senior season.
• Earned all-city team honors as both a junior and a senior.
• Played Club for CCV Stars 98, which he captained
• Won the Arizona State Championship in 2017 and finished as a runner-up in 2013 and 2016.

Personal

• John Paul Scearce is the son of John and Karen Scearce and he has one older sister.
• He is enrolled in the Hotel Administration school.
