Barlow's up-to-date results
As a Junior (2017-18)
• Notched three wins and nine top-three finishes in the pole vault.
• Scored at both the indoor and outdoor Heps, taking fifth indoors (16-4 3/4) and sixth outdoors (16-3 1/4) with both coming as season-best clearances.
As a Sophomore (2016-17)
• Continued to be a key contributor for the Big Red in the pole vault during his sophomore season.
• Indoors, finished seventh at the Ivy League Indoor Track and Field Championships and took one of the top three spots in the eight other indoor contests.
• Set a personal record clearance of 16’10.75” for third place at the Columbia East-West Challenge and took first at the Cornell Cabin Fever Invitational.
• Outdoors, took second at both the Ithaca College Tuesday Meet and the Big Red Outdoor Invitational before grabbing some points for Cornell with his seasonal best at the IC4A Outdoor Track and Field Championships with his fifth place finish (16’4.75”).
As a Freshman (2015-16)
• Had a strong debut season in the pole vault for the Big Red, finishing in the top 10 of every meet he competed in.
• Indoors, used a 16’2.75” to earn a first place finish at the Robert J. Kane Invitational and a 15’3” to earn a second place finish at the Cornell Sunday Invitational.
• In the outdoor pit, used his best vault of the season (16’5.25”) to finish third at the Bruins Legend of Track and Field Invitational.
• Also earned a first place finish at the Big Red Invitational (16’2.275”) and then finished in sixth place at the Ivy League Outdoor Track and Field Championships and the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Before Cornell
• Barlow was a two-time Colorado 5A State Champion in the pole vault, adding to three Front Range League titles.
• A four-time letter winner, he was captain of the Monarch High School team in 2015.
• Barlow also played basketball and football and was a member of the National Honors Society.
Personal
• Andrew James Barlow is the son of Jim Barlow and Meg McClellan.
• He has an older sister, Kelsey, and is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
