Sam Oravec's up-to-date results
As a Junior (2019-20)
• Competed in three meets in the long jump.
• Only finished in the top-five.
• Recorded a first-place finish in the long jump at the Greg Page Relays (12/7).
As a Sophomore (2018-19)
• Recorded eighth top-five placements, including a first-place finish at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge (2/2).
• Placed eighth at the Indoor Ivy League Heps Championships (2/23-24).
• Finished in sixth at the Outdoor Heps Championships (5/4-5).
As a Freshman (2017-18)
• Placed 10th in the triple jump (43-11 3/4) and 11th in the long jump (21-2 3/4) at the Greg Page Relays.
Prior to Cornell
• Sam graduated from
Fauquier High School in Virginia.
• He has proven experience all over the track in high school.
• The speed and strength he developed assisted him to a leap of 22'5.5 in high school, a very solid start for an incoming freshman.
• He was a multiple time Virginia 4A Indoor and Outdoor State Qualifier.
Personal
• Samuel John Oravec is the son of John and Corinne Oravec.
• Has one sister, Julia, who is plays beach volleyball for the Unviersity of Central Arkansas.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture anf Life Sciences.
