Biography
As a senior (2018-19)
• Served as the stroke for the third varsity eight as a senior.
• Advanced to the Grande Final with the third varsity eight at the EARC Sprints, finishing sixth.
• Helped the third varsity eight triumph over Princeton with a time of 5:57.20.
• Helped the third varsity eight down Penn, giving Cornell the edge to with the Leonard Points Cup.
As a junior (2017-18)
• Rowed in both the second and third varsity eight during his junior year.
• Helped the second varsity eight to a win over Princeton
• Earned wins with the third varsity eight against Columbia and Dartmouth.
• Stroked the third varsity eight to a sixth place finish at Eastern Sprints.
• Rowed in the lightweight 4+ that advanced to the Petite Finals at IRAs.
As a sophomore (2016-17)
• Member of the fourth varsity eight and the varsity four throughout his sophomore season.
• Helped the fourth varsity eight take bronze in the Grand Final at the 2017 EARC Sprints.
• Rowed the varsity four to a victory over Columbia and MIT.
As a freshman (2015-16)
• Rowed in the third varsity eight that took the silver medal at the 2016 Eastern Sprints.
• During the season, he helped the crew earn the Leonard Cup with a win over Penn and Harvard, as well as posting victories over Yale, Columbia, MIT, and Dartmouth.
Prior to Cornell
• Earned four varsity letters in rowing at Belen Jesuit Prep, earning the team’s MVP award as a junior and the team’s Coaches’ Award as a sophomore.
• Internationally, Sanchez competed in the Princess Elizabeth Cup Challenge at the 2015 Henley Royal Regatta.
• Won the DASH Championship with the men’s lightweight eight at the 2014 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, as well as a gold in the U17 8+ at the 2013 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.
• As a senior, Sanchez won a gold medal with the men’s lightweight eight at the SRAA National Championship and a silver medal with the lightweight eight at the USRowing Youth National Championship.
• As the stroke of the men’s lightweight eight, Sanchez took home silver medals from consecutive SRAA Nationals (2013, 2014), and gold medals from consecutive FSRA Florida State Championships (2013, 2014).
• Also helped the men’s lightweight eight to a sixth place finish at the 2014 USRowing Youth Nationals.

• Manuel Francisco Sanchez is the son of Anthony and Susan Sanchez and he has one younger sister.
• Enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
