Biography
• IRA National Champion with the lightweight eight (2019)
• Member of the IRA Lightweight Crew of the Year (2019)
As a junior (2019-20)
• Part of the lightweight varsity eight that earned bronze at the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta, crossing the finish line in 14:13.256.
• Won the men’s 2- with partner Andrew Hickey at the Cornell Autumn Classic, posting a winning time of 13:25.08.
• Member of the Cornell A 8+ boat that finished as the runner-up in Flight 2 at the Cornell Autumn Classic with a mark of 11:03.56.
• Rowed on the second varsity eight that placed eighth out of 30 boats in Flight 1 at the Princeton Chase with a time of 13:35.915.
• Spring 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19.
As a sophomore (2018-19)
• Rowed with the varsity eight during his sophomore year.
• Guided the Big Red to its eighth IRA National Championship, and the team’s fourth national championship in the last six seasons.
• Member of the varsity eight boat that was named the 2019 IRA Lightweight Crew of the Year.
• Rowed in the varsity eight at the EARC Sprints.
• Led Cornell to its 25th Matthews Trophy.
• Helped the Big Red win the Geiger Cup, Platt Cup, and Harriet Trophy.
As a freshman (2017-18)
• Rowed in the varsity eight during his freshman season.
• Led the crew to victories over Penn, MIT, and Dartmouth.
• Helped the varsity eight take sixth overall at Eastern Sprints.
• Rowed in the lightweight 4- that advanced to the Petite Finals at IRAs.
Prior to Cornell
• Earned three varsity letters at New Trier High School.
• Won three consecutive Midwest Scholastic Championships in the men’s lightweight varsity eight (2015, 2016, 2017).
• Rowed in Grand Finals of the men’s lightweight varsity eight at 2016 Youth Nationals.
• Earned a bronze medal in the men’s youth eight at the 2016 Head of the Charles.
• Won a gold medal with the men’s freshmen eight at the 2014 SRAA National Championships.
Personal
• David Michael Tigerman is the son of Jud Tigerman and Nancy Barlow and he has one sister.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
