Biography

As a sophomore (2019-20)

• Did not compete (Spring 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19).

As a freshman (2018-19)

• Rowed on the third varsity eight as a freshman.
• Advanced to the Grand Final with the third varsity eight at the EARC Sprints, finishing sixth overall.
• Helped the third varsity eight triumph over Princeton with a time of 5:57.20.
• Guided the third varsity eight to a win over Penn, giving Cornell the edge to win the Leonard Points Cup.

Prior to Cornell

• Member of the Pocock Rowing Center.
• Placed 17th in the men’s varsity eight at the 2016 National Championships.
• Gold medal in the Fred Honebein Cup at the 2016 Winderemere Regatta.
• Gold medal in the Sarah Nevin Cup at the 2016 Windermere Regatta.
• Gold in the men’s youth eight at the 2016 Head of the Oklahoma.
• Earned two varsity letters in swimming at Roosevelt HS.

Personal

• Ian Woodard Hinck is the son of Matthew Hinck and Jill Seebergh and he has one sister.
• Enrolled in the College of Engineering.
