Biography
As a sophomore (2019-20)
• Part of the lightweight varsity eight that earned bronze at the 55th Head of the Charles Regatta, crossing the finish line in 14:13.256.
• Helped the lightweight varsity eight secure a second place finish in Flight 1 at the Princeton Chase, posting a time of 13:14.933.
• Teamed up with Tristan Wiese to compete in the men’s 2- in Flight 1 at the Cornell Autumn Classic.
• Rowed on the Cornell B 8+ boat in Flight 2 at the Cornell Autumn Classic, recording a time of 12:00.60.
• Spring 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19.
As a freshman (2018-19)
• Rowed with the second varsity eight during his freshman year.
• Led the second varsity eight to a gold medal at the EARC sprints with a time of 6:42.95.
• Won the Petite Final with the varsity 4- at the IRA National Championship.
• Guided the second varsity eight to victories over Dartmouth, Princeton, and Columbia.
Prior to Cornell
• Earned two varsity letters in rowing at Junipero Serra High School.
• Placed fourth in the men’s varsity eight at the USRowing 2016 Southwest Youth Championship.
• Finished eighth in the men's varsity eight at the 2016 Stotesbury Cup Regatta.
• Took sixth in the men's varsity eight at the USRowing 2017 Southwest Youth Championship.
• Silver medal in the men's varsity eight at the 2017 Head of the American.
• Rowed two season with the Redwood Scullers (2017-18).
• Gold medal in the men's 4x at the USRowing 2018 Southwest Youth Championship.
• Bronze medal in the men's 4x at the USRowing 2018 Youth National Championship.
• Gold medal in the men's youth lightweight category at the 2018 Peninsula Indoor Rowing Championship.
Personal
• Louis Harry Whittle is the son of Lawrence and Joan Whittle and he has two sisters.
• Enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
